Here's a painting based on the drawing by the kid staying with us (see two posts ago). I'm not sure it's entirely worked, but I want to play around with it some more. I think I made it a bit too fussy, maybe I'll simplify it. It sort of combines her drawing style with the look of the Ramayana paintings at the British Library.

And here's the sunset we saw yesterday on our walk after dinner.

Wow - great!
I saw a lovely sunset the night before last, walking back through the parks in Oxford - but it never seems like a photo captures the real feel of it so I didn't try to take one. Yours works very well though!

don't know if i've checked in here before, but i do like your blog -- your 'warm-up sketches' are terrific!
i've often thought of in some way using my kids' drawings in a series of illustrations (and have once in a cartoon), so it's interesting to see you doing something similar. i like it.
