Thanks for that! I just had a terrible drawing day so it felt a little better when I made this.

It's funny because it's true.

Then you fail at life.

Just kidding.

heh - you should play jam comics - I used to do it a lot (bit time & organisational ability faltered (fatherhood, fiscal neccessity: ie job)

more recently
which didn't get a critical momentum... hmm - perhaps if I could get a few more people involved...

and there's still
which I need to convert from a wordpress format to a movabletype format & get relaunched

Thanks so much for the useful jam links! :-)

<3 this. Similar line and colour to Ivan Brunetti's stuff, but much sweeter of course.

Hey, btw, I went to Bookcamp on Saturday and met Alex Milway, we had a lovely natter and when we found out we both knew you, suggested we meet for a drink. You game?
Jan. 19th, 2009 06:56 pm (UTC)
Sure! Alex is a lovely guy. I am right in the middle of reading his Mousehunter book!

arrgghhh recently talking to people has been like "D8!!!!!" to the point where I've nearly been avoiding people all day every day. its good to see I'm not alone in the struggle.
Jan. 19th, 2009 06:57 pm (UTC)
Hang in there, we'll manage somehow! ;-)

I feel exactly the same. But I oughtn't be in a relationship with someone who draws, because I get too competitive!

So I'm with a computer programmer. :D
Jan. 19th, 2009 07:00 pm (UTC)
And I'm with a civil servant! :-D

I recently had a conversation about that same thing with a friend. I'm so uncompetitive that it's almost a handicap, but I am trying to understand. I guess I compete a lot with myself. I think it's cool if it means someone's trying to do their very best, but I'd be a bit leery if it meant the person actively wished I would do poorly or tried to play mind games. :-P

True - comics relationships are strange because there's all kinds of emotions surrounding one's own very personal work - pride, envy, competitiveness, fear of failure, fear of success. Mixing it up with someone else with all the same insecurities and loves can be brilliant, depressing, inspiring and scary.

In the meantime, everyone on your friends list is trying to work out which one in the strip is them!
Jan. 19th, 2009 07:39 pm (UTC)
I wasn't drawing anyone specifically, just general stuff! (Haha, isn't that diplomatic? It's like that last thing on a film when it says that any likenesses are purely coincidental.) ;-)

And yes, collaboration can be difficult, but I think it's mostly a good thing. I've really enjoyed things in the past where I could bounce ideas off people. If anyone's not sure who's them, just assume it's the first strip of panels! :-)
