ugly, but in kind of a cute way

I was messing around last night with that white clay stuff that you bake in the oven. I was never very good at the sculpture part of art classes, so it was a struggle. Oh, well. Happy Christmas, monkey.

Stuart and I did some Christmas shopping on Saturday. This photo on New Bond Street (or Old Bond Street?) makes Churchill look a bit of a lech. We spent a lot of time in John Lewis playing the duck shooting game.

Oh, that's a GREAT monkey! Nothing whatsoever lacking in your sculpting skills! I love his hands & feet. He looks like he's talking very animatedly about a subject close to his heart. (Or perhaps describing the fish that got away).

See what you mean about our wartime leader. But maybe he's just craving a little affection. And who could fail to love a man who could at a steak & kidney pie, drink a double whiskey and smoke a cigar all at the same time...

Are you really so tall? Or are the statues short? Great photo. Nice monkey too!

Thanks, guys! Yeah, David, six feet and solid. Here's my sister, she's six feet too, but a bit lighter on her toes.

Tall Women Rock
Wow, so you probably really would have towered over little Mr Churchill! That makes the photo even better.

I've been meaning to see the Rat City Roller Girls... My friend Lisa DJs for them & the online photos always look fun.

I like the Monkey!!
Honestly,it's awesome, not ugly at all!
Especially the monkey's tail is so alive!
I think you might lack of very fine sculp tools to smooth the junctions. One of my colleague told me, the most useful tool can be DIY and shaped whatever u like, and the best choise of material is bamboo.
But i haven't tried it yet...

Re: I like the Monkey!!
Hi, Chuming! I've been using a very limited set of 'Sculpey' modeling tools, but making bamboo tools is a great idea. Thanks!

Re: Hi Sarah
Thanks, Olivia! Sorry to miss the ice skating the other day! I went awhile ago to Streatham ice rink and it was a lot of fun. It would be great to do it again some time, but the special Christmas rinks are small and crowded, and scare me a bit!
