family photos

daleof posted some great old photos of his relatives in Ireland here, and I couldn't resist drawing them in the 'Simms Taback' mode I've adopted for the last two blog posts.
I really must stop doing this, but I do so love the way it makes normal looking things so funny...

(I just hope Dale's family don't get cross with me. Here's the pic.)

Ohhh, I'm ROTFL-ing...The littlest girl!
Yesterday's 'Audrey' was sublime, too.

Yay, thanks! :-D

Hey, I'm so clueless with this whole internet/texting acronym thing. Can you give me a little lesson? I know LOL means Laughing out Loud (or sometimes Lots of Love) and I know WTF, OMG and ZOMG, but I am totally lost with the rest of them [shamefaced admission.] Any help much appreciated!

nubby teeth = a critical component
Ha ha, this is fantastic! It's like you've invented a high-efficiency goofifying algorithm, run any picture through and it comes out the other end at least 75% goofier. (which is really saying something for some of the sartorial decisions in question ;)

argh. that's weird. bits of both the drawing and the photo remind me of different people.

the audrey hepburn drawing is odd to because it's so utterly unlike audrey hepburn but the scene is so recognisable that you identify it immediately. i like that gap between cognition and what's in front of you. it's a kind of irony, i guess. it reminds me a bit of gillian wearing recreating that photograph of her brother. http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2009/apr/09/artist-gillian-wearing-best-shot

but i'm going off on one.

feel free to come and get your pestle and mortar whenever it suits. just check i'm in first. or i wouldn't mind getting away from the screen for an hour or so if you want me to come to you.
