I can sit in its little glow and all is right with the world...

And even better when listening to these two songs by Alamo Race Track.

GREAT selfportrait! You've really captured your own smile there! Although you're prettier in real life! And of course, I seethe with envy over your lightbox...

Yeah, where'd you get it? What brand? I'm in the market for one, but it's hard to find the 'right' one...I got a recommendation but it's for the US. I can't wait! Help me Sarah....

Hi, Ellen! It's an 'Artograph Lightracer II Light Box' and I bought it at Atlantis for £95 (£10 off for my student card). Here's the manufacturer's website:

I've been planning for years to build one myself out of a drawer and a piece of perspex. But it's been about six years since I made that plan, and when I saw this one, it was so thin and lightweight (it's all plastic) that I thought it was worth the extra money. I keep it under my desk and just pull it up when I want to use it, or prop it against my desk and my tummy. The Atlantis assistant let me open the box and try it out, so I saw it was bright enough to see through 300 gram watercolour paper with another piece of normal printer paper underneath.

Hey Sarah,
Cool, thanks for the tip!
I haven't been to Atlantis...it's good to know they're so helpful. I'll have to do a similar test, since the Bristol board I usually work with is 250 g and soo dense. I have lots of little re-draws for my GN that would be so much easier with a lightbox.
Tell Jan et al I say hi....

PS I really like La Blogotheque. It's a neat way to check out new bands. And it's FRENCH.
