day trip to ghent

During the holidays, Stuart and I took the train out from Brussels to the Flemmish town of Ghent and spent the afternoon wandering along the canals, craning our necks to look at buildings, and trying not to get run over by bicycles.

There was even puke lobbed onto the window of this clothing shop, it was a lovely display:

We spotted these two Flemmish comic book shops on main roads, and loads of other bookshops with comics displayed prominently in their front windows.

Love Ghent. I was there for a convention last year. Ended up bonding with Robert Englund. Who knew?

Belgium is a very underated country - I think its becuase we Brits normally drive through it quickly on the way to other countries. But I love it. I like Antwerp, Bruge, Brussels, Ghent....all amazing towns. Very historic. I saw the last Star Wats film in this amazing cinema in Bruge. Bruge also has a great Tin Tin shop!! The Belgium architechure is lovely and as your photo's capture the Belgiums are very artistic and love design and flower arranging. I love Belgium food (fries with mayonese) and of course they have the best beer in the world. Leffe Blonde is my favourite.
