the late mr. shufflebottom

On New Year's Day, Stuart and I went on an urban hike along the Capital Ring from Wandworth to Richmond. On Sunday, I woke up with flu and felt like death, so I bashed out this comic to cheer me up.

It's dedicated to nedroidcomics, beatonna and lucylou, whose online comics always make me feel better.

Okay, so I tweaked the inscription a bit...

Aw, thanks, Jamie! It's because I had a million other things to do, but I felt so horrible that something completely irrelevant was the only thing I could manage to concentrate on!

great stuff sarah -- love the shufflebottom gravestone figure.

like jamie, i'm marvelling at your ability to draw this when 'feeling like death'. i was feeling a tiny bit below par over the weekend and managed only to watch a rather a lot of f.a. cup footy.

of course the best gravestone inscription ever has to be spike milligan's oft-quoted 'i told you i was ill!'

Thanks! That Spike one is the classic! I got in a rambly discussion about it with nedroidcomic here, but never quite managing to come up with a really good inscription.

Sorry, that last comment was from me (Jane Heinrichs), but I was too thick to figure out how not to be anonymous. I'll try again All the best!

They're often prominent politicians, and when they say their names on the radio, it nearly makes me spit up my tea, but English people don't seem to notice. I never get that.

Reading this on my phone in the train station's waiting room, I burst out laughing and people looked at me funny.
Jan. 4th, 2010 04:36 pm (UTC)
Ha ha! That is my mission in life. XD
Jan. 4th, 2010 04:10 pm (UTC)

And I also love those old English names, totally
Jan. 4th, 2010 04:37 pm (UTC)
Yay, thanks, Kate! Yeah, English people never seem to notice the really wacky names, they say them with such straight faces and it boggles my mind.

Jan. 4th, 2010 11:25 pm (UTC)
