princess spaghetti takes on the planet!

Maryam at Scholastic just sent me copies of You Can't Eat a Princess!... in Slovenian and Hebrew! I haven't even seen the English version yet, but these are great fun to look at! The book launches March 1st and you can already pre-order it on Amazon in hardcover or paperback.

The Hebrew one's totally flipped around, which could be problematic, but actually looks like it was meant to be that way. The best bit is that the taunting alien abduction letter actually looks like it's written in Martian, yay!! I think that makes it even better than the English book.

Dani Books publishes the Hebrew edition and the Slovenian book's published by Založbi Alica.

Wow! That must be a real thrill to see your work in different languages! Congratulations!

Thanks! Yeah, it's exciting, and also a bit weird, seeing the range of decisions the editors have made about the format, colours and lettering. Like, the Hebrew book is much more square, so the artwork on the sides goes *right* to the edge of the extra bleed I painted. And the spaceship on one is pink and the other is almost red! Crazy.

How cool! Another one to buy for the kids, the English version that is.

Heheh! I'm amused by the 'looks like it's written in Martian' comment... since I'm a Hebrew-speaker, it looks totally normal to me, of course, so it's kinda hard to imagine that to someone else it may look like, well, something totally alien. :) Awesome.

I love the shapes, maybe it's just that particular font, but it looks like elvish runes or something. Heh heh...
