dear diary, jan 16, 1990

Uncensored, as ever. (Well, except for the scribbled out names.) I think I just love embarrassing myself or something.
(You can read earlier entries here.)

Thanks to Julia Eccleshare for her fab comments about my book with Gillian Rogerson, You Can't Eat a Princess!.

These diary excerpts are wonderful. I used to be obsessed with a similar girl called Anna Lieber (A great name for repeating to yourself Zippy-style...)Her parents were both shrinks and she always wore white tights with Weejums loafers. *Sigh*
Thanks for sharing the brilliant channeling cat, too. :D

Hi, Lee! Ha ha, that's great. What are Weejum loafers, are they the kind you put pennies in the top?

Bass Weejums
Yes, and they were the 'official' most expensive ones, worn by proper preppies.

Oh they're WeejuNs, actually; seems they still make them.

(Still pricey, too-)

Oo, very stylish! :D

These were the ones we all wore, but I don't remember that style being particularly brand-essential. Converse sneakers, on the other hand... or Adidas Sambas, the guys were pretty picky about those.
