a mini triumph!!

Lookie, lookie, I managed to make a mini comic in time for Hi-Ex in Inverness this weekend! Lauren just noted that the dates on the cover (1988-1990) make it look a bit like I've died, but at least I can take comfort that if I only lived two years, they were very full years.

I'll be selling most of my copies at Hi-Ex, but Ellen Lindner (ellenlindner) will have a dozen copies at her table, so pop over there quick to see her if you want one! She also has a few of my artwork prints for sale.

Ellen's been working like mad with her Gocco press and is just popping back in later to finish up. Hurrah! Her full-colour mini is looking beautiful.

Ellen and our fab friend Dave O'Connell (tozocomic) will be manning booths at the UK Web & Mini Comix Thing on Saturday in Mile End, east London. Dave's selling brand new Queen Mother mini comic, The Green Lady Mystery and the third chapter of his epic ligne-claire Tozo comic, and I am totally dying to get my hands on both of those. Everyone up in Scotland, I'll see you very soon!

So glad you're coming! Yes, I've been well impressed with Ellen's in-studio printmaking. So compact, so chic!

Yes, I'm going to be running around trying to get all the new things I didn't get at the Thing, especially Tozo Dave and Warwick Johnson Cadwell's stuff.

Gary even has this special stapler for minis that prop up the paper on the fold and let me staple dead centre on it! He let me use it and I was so chuffed.

Gary also has a wicked shot with a rubber band. Got me right in the eye a few hours ago. (That was after another one of his stray rubber bands jammed up my printer.) Glad I wear specs.

I've heard about those mystic staplers, but never seen one.

This is the sort of thing, although you could probably find it cheaper elsewhere, like eBay. Gary says it's the best thing he's ever bought (which might be stretching things a little, but hey).

I'll miss you, too! Although I'm dead envious of you getting to do it with WJC, you guys are going to be a total POWERHOUSE. Ka-ching, ka-ching.

Cute comic! Brilliant idea for a diary comic.
Also, Mr.Trololo has been making appearances in my household too...
