full of hot air

I'm trying to come up with a postcard image for my degree show, but I'm not sure I've hit on it yet. I'd be really glad for some critical feedback on this one! I'd like to make something striking, and the advantages of this one is that I can use it as is, or write a funny little message in the bubble. But I'm not sure if it works very well. Any suggestions?

I really like it, Sarah. The colours work exceptionally well and it is perfectly composed for a stand alone postacrd image. I feel that you probably need to write something funny in the bubble or re-address the space at the top of the illustration in some way. Well, that's my opinion anyway, for what it's worth. Hope all is well with you and the degree show preparation....X

I really like this! A simple but very effective composition. Like the paisley dress pattern too. And is that another Gainsborough-inspired hairstyle, perchance? Thinking back to some of your other recent work, maybe "Space Tourists" would have made an even stronger image for a postcard, but I don't know if that's part of your degree show. And this one is absolutely strong enough!!!

Re: Postcard
Thanks, guys! Yeah, I'm still not sure about it, but running out of time now... :-P I slapped together another couple images for the portfolio in the wee hours of this morning, and now that I've woken up and looked at them again, I wonder what I was thinking. Oh, well. I put another little vignette on the back of the cat blowing himself up with the same bicycle pump, so maybe that will make it better or something.
