from new york to portland!

Hey, there! Sorry it's been awhile! I'll post lots more photos soon from New York City and MoCCA comics festival, but here's a little comic I made on the plane ride to Seattle.

My parents have just been sitting here helping me turn it into a mini comic for Stumptown comics festival this weekend. So swing by my booth and grab a copy if you're around!

I LOVE New York! I have so many photos I can't possibly process them all tonight, but here are two.

MoCCA was fabulous; here's a glimpse of some of the things Ellen Lindner, Cliodhna Lyons and I will have on our table in Portland!

It's so quiet here
Fabulous mini comic. If only you could make a scratch and sniff one that smelt like cinnamon.

Missing you guys here. The studio is very quiet. And tidy... :P

Miss you, too! I wish you were out here, we'd have such fun and you would turn all my relatives into knitters.

Ha ha, my (formerly) British dad always cracks me up with his coffee ordering skills. IT's like, 'double-shot, skinny latte extra hot with a shot of almond'... Huh? :o

Good ol' US of A
Fantastic! I love it. And so true. Brought such a smile to my face. You're so much more productive on those cross country flights then I ever manage to be.

Dear god I feel so unproductive now, all I did was read comics on the plane ride to Seattle!

Ha ha, I am not usually productive on planes. Maybe this one was different because domestic flights don't do free drinks anymore.

Hi, Raina! Great to read on Twitter that your trip to Austin went well. Dave was so fab in sending people over to our table. I just read his space academy book, it's brilliant. Hope to catch up with you before too long!

cinnamon
such a nice little comic. Can't believe you made it en route! It puts me to shame. (I had designed a zine for the convention, but then ran out of time to print it).

Leeann and I liked your observation on cinnamon!

Re: cinnamon
Cinnamon... mmm. We get it here, but more in savoury dishes than sweet. Lots of curries with cinnamon, or cassia bark, which is very similar. I did way too much sampling of foods I miss from America, oof. No more pancakes for me!

Re: cinnamon
What? No pancakes in England?? I don't eat them often, but I can't imagine life without them.

Re: cinnamon
They're not the same kind of pancakes here. I'm sure I could dig up the right ingredients and make them, but usually when you order pancakes here, they give you crêpes. Which are also very good, but I do love big fat American hotcakes.

Argh, I shouldn't have taken that nap before dinner. I just popped wide awake and it's only 2am. Jet lag's always worse going this direction. :p

International Pancakes
Sounds like Swedish pancakes (which are crepe-y). They're getting harder and harder to find around Ballard as the elderly Scandinavians die off. :(

Good luck with the jet lag! I have a cold after all the excitement in PDX. But am beginning to feel like the mucus is on its way out...
