a dartmoor comics journal

I finished inking this travel comic on the way back from visiting Philip Reeve and his family on Dartmoor last week.

You can see Philip's drawings over on his Dartmoor Sketchbook blog.

You're welcome! And it's true, those rocks are amazing, like a giant sculpture park.

Yay, thanks, Faye! And it was a fun trip, the most relaxing I've had in ages!

I'm not sure, I still need to check! But it was on the left-hand side of the train, somewhere along the stretch of track going from Thatcham to Dawlish.

Ah, Stuart just figured it out, it's the Westbury or Bratton white horse in Wiltshire.

Thanks! I agree, it's fun to see how two people tackle the same subject matter.

I love this, so many beautiful drawings. The tree drawings you do are amazing.
I got myself a little A5 sketchbook to carry round with me to force myself to draw things I wouldn't normally.

That's great! Trees are so fun to draw, I recommend them. :)

Loved the comic.
I do so understand about misbehaving corsetry. There was the strange pain that the doctor couldn't identify but that I finally realised only appeared after wearing a certain underwired bra. And the time when I had to walk through the green channel at airport customs trying to look unconcerned as my suspender belt came undone and my stockings started sliding downwards.

I've just bought the 4 books in the Mortal Engines series and really enjoyed them. My daughter is now reading the first book and taking it everywhere with her so I pretty sure she is enjoying it.

I'm now off to find the radio programme you mentioned.

Thanks for blogging on so many different subjects.
