steve' birthday bash

Last night I got to feel very small, sitting in a very big chair. It was a bit like Alice in Wonderland.

I didn't actually do much sitting. My friend Steve Cole (author of Astrosaurs, Cows in Action, Slime Squad series, lots more books) sang with his band for his own 40th birthday party, including a lot of fab songs Steve had composed himself.

Stuart and I spent the whole evening making happy idiots of ourselves on the dance floor. Here's exactly how we look when we dance:

Here's a little picture I made (because the birthday boy's a big Spider-man fan).

Congratulations to Steve on his birthday, and also for launching his 50th book, The Slime Squad vs the Alligator Army, this week with Random House!

The Silver Chair
That's an impressive chair! There's a Narnia book about a Silver Chair, but I can't remember much about it at this point...

And wow -- really fun to see you draw SPiderman. I did a double-take.

Re: The Silver Chair
Hi, David! Isn't that chair grandiose? I remember The Silver Chair! It's my second least favourite of the Narnia books, but still a cracking good story. :)
