thatching

This is a picture of me thatching my virtual summer cottage. I spend a lot of time there. I come from a long line of virtual thatchers: my grandma thatched, my mother thatched, my twenty-seven daughters all thatch. (My son works at Tesco.) We are a proud people, prone to melancholy and flatulence, but oh, can we thatch.

Thanks! Yeah, No. 14 daughter was a little stubborn, but after three days in the woodshed she came round to my point of view. Now she is getting good work, last week she thatched the Reichstag!

Thatchulence is a terrible affliction. Virtual or otherwise.

PS. Where do you get all your textures and patterns from?

From the woodshed! Same place I hide my thatchulence.

I made most of the textures up, sampling a bit from some earlier doodles. Except for the grass, which is somewhat borrowed from Alaskan artist Rie Muñoz.

Fabulous! great textures...and much R-E-S-P-E-C-T for your rowing escapades. Keep us well informed on your progress. Who know's you could be rowing in the dragonboat race yourself, next year. I'd definitely come and cheer you on !-) X

Well, they're not escapades yet, but hopefully they will be! I'll let you know how it goes! (And picking a club in Greenwich wasn't entirely an accident.) :-D

A fine thatch job. Those bizarre aspargus/succlent trees are the bee's knees!

Ooh, I want some asparagus for dinner. After a day's work thatching, of course.

One of your best yet!!! I absolutely totally love it! Guess flatulence and melancholy would inevitably go together...

Well, we, um.
Have a tin roof.
But the barns could use some help.

No worries, thatching tin is my specialty! I like the way it twangs while I'm weaving it. But I have to wear thicker gloves and the only place I can get those particular gloves is a small shop in Basingstoke, so I shall have to wait on your roof job until I can get down there.
