die reichstag thatchers

I am so proud of my thatching girls (see earlier post). No. 14 led the way, vastly improving the appearance of Berlin's once frumpy edifice. No. 23 is currently leading a team of her sisters who are toiling on London's Gherkin. We're all fond of the Gherkin, but we never felt it looked altogether finished.
edit: That's supposed to be 'die' as in the German plural 'dee', not die as in 'expire'. Of course I don't want any of my family to come to harm.

This is awesome! How do you produce so many great drawings in such a short time? Are you drawing directly with ink?

Re: Yay!
Thanks, David! Yes, scanning in the ink lines, then adding everything else in Photoshop. Much quicker than painting! It almost qualifies as a morning sketch, but I think I lingered a bit on this one.

High Quality Lingering
Yes -- I could see this image being the cover to a little childrens book.

Ha ha, you're second guessing me very well! I think thatching is the new knitting. :-D

I love those girls; the one with the braids looks appropriately teutonic :-)
