east end graffiti

I snapped some graffiti photos on the way to meet friends for dinner on Brick Lane. This first painting's so lovely.

Gosh, the graffiti is a lot more sophisticated in England.

Nah, mostly it's just tagging. But a lot of artists live in that particular area and you sometimes get some great stuff there. Actually, you occasionally get some good stuff where I live, mostly stencil work, but the council paint it over pretty quick.

Even the graffiti is cooler across the Pond. I'm going into Manhattan tonight (dinner at Max Brenner's on 14th Street, saving room for dessert!) and I'll try to snap some East Village graffiti from the FDR. Great blogging, haven't forgot the story- maybe after I reject a few more Yale wannabes I'll start scribing in earnest. Love you, Sarah! Laura
