upcoming London swap meet

I just put together a hard-cover little version of my hourly comic, hooray! I'm trying to get some (very limited) editions ready for the Comic Creators' Guild of Great Britain Swap Meet this Saturday. But it takes absolutely ages to make, so I doubt I'll be making many more! I'm aiming for ten copies. Do come along and hang out with other comics people if you're around, Feb 23rd at the White Swan Pub, 20 Farringdon Street, London EC4A 4AB, 2 - 6pm.

The swap meet coordinator, Giovanni Spinella, writes: The purpose of this event is to provide all comic book creators a venue where they can meet other creators, to network, socialise and discuss any matter that they find important.
This event isn’t a market, so there will be no expectations for you to buy a table or the likes. Nor is this event some kind of recruitment drive. This is simply a venue that we are offering to all small-press creators.
The decision to call it a swap-meet comes from the thought that as a creator, you might wish to show your products to other creators and exchange comics. You are not, however obliged to do so. The “meet” part in the “swap-meet” title is by far the most important element.

And here's a banner in support of fellow illustrator and comics person Jess Fink finkenstein who just got her work badly ripped off by a design company. You can read about it here (angry illustrators, some strong language).

Stuart, Yoko and I went to a concert last night by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. They had this brilliant and shockingly young Armenian violinist named Sergey Khachatryan who brought down the house.

And this made me laugh, a friend just asked me to order a Goi Goi Pillow, on a website she described as 'all about babies with oddly shaped heads'. I would so love to do illustrations for the website, but they might not turn out looking very PC.

Aw, I'd love to, but I'm not sure, these babies are taking absolutely AGES to assemble. :-P But I'm really looking forward to the Thing, it will be great to catch up with you!

Aha! SWAP meet! So THAT's what they've been talking about in US sitcoms since time immemorial! It always sounded like "swamp meet" or even "swaff meet"...
Your hourly comic was SO cute! I am currently hungry for info on all book making/binding techniques, but it sounds like this task was a biggie even for the mercurial you! Not encouraging...

Yes, I should've just gone with photocopying and a staple... but it's so satisfying to come up with something nicely packaged.
