Following on from yesterday's yellow theme... My friend Woodrow kindly lent me some of his old comics to read, so for today's morning sketch, I copied the cover of one of them.

That was fun! If I get more time, I'll try to add some texture. I still need to find out who drew and inked the original, it's not easy to find anywhere in the comic and the Wikipedia entry lists lots of Johnny Thunders. I'll ask Woodrow, I'm sure he'll know.
Edit: For some other redrawings of old comics covers, have a look at tedprior's stuff, it's great fun.

Edit 2:That reminds me, I read a fabulous wild west book for book club a couple years ago, These is my words: the diary of Sarah Agnes Prine, 1881-1901. I wasn't expecting to like it but I absolutely adored it. The stuff that lady got up to!
(The book's out of print, but don't let that stop you.)

Loads more takes on covers over at the Covered blog. (Thanks, Garen, for that link!)
