(For non-Brits, this refers to our new Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition government.)
I heard from a reliable government source yesterday that the people in a certain building on Whitehall took down the department name plaque from the front of the building, just in case the new leaders had already decided to change the names of all the government departments, as they didn't want to offend while the new people made their first official visit. Fortunately very few of the department names have been changed so far (although the Department for Children, Schools and Families is back to being the Department of Education), so the old plaque can go back up and save the taxpaper a million or so quid in new stationery and metal signs. So far, so good, right?
