Here's this morning's drawing from Greenwich Park. Today was the first time in the park that anyone's ever recognised me and said hello. It was a guy named Joe Beale, who was carrying a photo tripod, and who attended the lecture I gave to MA Illustration students at Camberwell Art College when I'd only recently graduated. TWO HOURS, at a podium, in front of a hall full of people, and it was one of my first-ever events. I thought it was going to be scary, but then I realised I sort of liked having the license to talk about myself for absolutely ages, ha ha... *waves at Joe, if he's reading this*

While I was still trying to get myself out of the house after breakfast, I caught sight of a video about the work of one of my favourite artists, Rob Ryan, so I thought I'd show it to you. Here it is, as seen on Printeresting and Drawn blogs.

Handmade Portraits: Rob Ryan from Etsy on Vimeo.

I pulled Stuart over to have a look, and he said, 'Oh, isn't that the chap who was in my cycling magazine?' Stuart reads the London Cyclist religiously, and yup, there was Rob Ryan.

I snapped a photo of a book I have with a cover he designed. You'll probably recognise his work - it's everywhere at the moment - but if you don't know it, be sure to visit his website for a peek. I thought about doing my morning tree drawing in cut paper instead of pencil, but my pointy craft knives are all dull, so I'll save that for another day.

Don't forget, the Etherington Brothers launch their comic Baggage in London tonight! Details here, see you soon!
