two mysteries, one solved

dlasky solved the first mystery yesterday: it was The Wolf Man being filmed on the riverbank while I was out rowing. I went for coffee this morning in Greenwich and stopped by the set. Everyone was in the middle of packing up and clearing away the dirt that had covered the stone road, but odd bits and bobs were still lying about looking lonely. So I took a few photos and, if I ever see the film, I'll blurt out annoying things like, 'hey, I remember that post box' or 'I know what the inside of that coffee wagon looks like' and people will shush me and look askance.

But the other mystery is still hanging! ...What is the DFC? It sounds like big news for British comics! Oxford-based publisher David Fickling is launching a weekly comic - the David Fickling Comic - that is sure to be absolutely brilliant. Contributors will include Philip Pullman, Garen Ewing and a whole host of other mysterious but surely remarkable people. If you subscribe before the 30th of May, you'll save 23% on the annual subscription, so don't wait!
You can subscribe on the DFC website and here's an early press release.

This is a back door to the naval college, but it looks like the Globe Theatre has suddenly upped sticks and moved downstream...

These 'stone' gates and trees sprang up overnight.
